This cocktail perfectly blends the complex floral notes of Phoenix Dancong with the rich depth of whiskey. The addition of Dancong syrup introduces a surprising layer of flavor, refreshing the classic Whiskey Sour with a long, elegant finish.

Flavor Profile: Balanced, smooth, and complex. The oaky notes of whiskey, the fresh acidity of lemon, and the elegant floral aroma of Dancong intertwine.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Bourbon Whiskey

  • 1 oz Freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 0.75 oz Dancong syrup*

  • Ice

  • Orange peel (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, and Dancong syrup.

  3. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the shaker is frosty.

  4. Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

  5. Express the orange peel over the drink to release its oils and drop it in as garnish.

*Dancong Syrup: Combine 100ml of strong-brewed Dancong tea with 100g white sugar. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool completely before use. Can be stored in the fridge for two weeks.
